How to make a hat in 3d max ??




1. open your 3d max software, choose Geometry and click
Cylinder button.



2. to make you easy create the Cylinder from the top view port and if you want to edit it, go to modify and insert the value of Radius is 30.457, height is 57.354, height segments is 5, cap segments is 1, sides is 18.




3. convert the cylinder to the Editable Poly.



4. select some vertex like at the picture.



5. scale the vertex you have selected using Select and Uniform Scale, like at the picture.



6. sorry friend, I forgot to put the next tutorial, but i will guide you to know. in the 5 tutorial, after you have scale the vertex, select some polygon and extrude it, how to extrude ?? you will know in the 11 tutorial, just see it and back again to the 6 tutorial,like at the picture.




7. look this step carefully, we will add some edges, for what ?? to make good editing when we are using FFD modifier, select some edges like at the picture, click connect and insert the value is 2 like at the picture.




8. go to modifier and choose FFD(box).




9. Click the Set Number of Points button and insert the value of Length is 9, Width is 9, Height is 9.




10. if you are using the FFD(box), do not forget to unselect all of vertex, edge, polygon, etc. Just click ControlPoints and move the vertex of FFD(box) by using Select and Move like at the picture.




11. From the perspective view port, rotate the object. Now, select the bottom polygon and click inset and extrude the polygon like at the picture.




12. this is the last step, go to modify and choose TurboSmooth, and insert the value of Iterations is 2.
